Value Management Inc. (Headquarters: Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture; Representative Director: Jun Tarikino; hereinafter, 'the Company') will be selling special plans at 'Heian Jingu Kaikan' and 'Funatsuru Kyoto Kamogawa Resort' that combine viewing and dining experiences for Kyoto's traditional events (Aoi Festival, Kyoto Takigi Noh, Gion Festival, Gozan Okuribi, Jidai Festival) to be held in 2026. We will provide a luxurious experience where guests can leisurely immerse themselves in Kyoto's traditional culture in a high-quality space, including special seats.
Background of the Project Kyoto, an ancient capital with 1200 years of history, is said to host over 300 festivals annually. Among them, the Three Great Festivals (Aoi Festival, Gion Festival, Jidai Festival) attract numerous tourists from both Japan and abroad. Our company's purpose is 'to weave culture.' We preserve and renovate multiple historical buildings and resources remaining in Kyoto, transforming them into 'necessary' and 'usable' spaces such as restaurants, unique venues, and hotels. To allow guests to fully enjoy Kyoto's traditional events held in 2026 and provide a high-quality experience of touching Kyoto's history and culture, we will offer dinner plans with viewing seats for Kyoto Takigi Noh, a summer tradition, in addition to the Three Great Festivals. For Gozan Okuribi, considered one of the 'Four Great Events,' we will offer a plan to enjoy the scenery of the garden at Heian Jingu Kaikan, as well as a special plan at Funatsuru Kyoto Kamogawa Resort, a registered tangible cultural property along the Kamo River, where guests can view it from the riverside terrace or the sky terrace.
Introduction of Various Plans
1. Aoi Festival (May 15th) 【Heian Jingu Kaikan】Special Lunch-Included Plan to Experience Kyoto's Traditional Culture from Special Seats The 'Aoi Festival' is said to be a symbol of Kyotoites' spirit and pride, representing early summer in Kyoto. A grand procession, about 1 kilometer long, consisting of 511 people in splendid court costumes for various roles, 36 horses, 4 cows, 2 ox-drawn carriages, and 1 palanquin, parades for approximately 8 kilometers. There are two types of seats: special seats where you can watch the moment the historical procession starts right in front of you, which are not generally sold, and 'Manabi-seki' (learning seats) with an earphone guide providing real-time commentary by dedicated staff. After viewing the Aoi Festival, lunch will be served at Heian Jingu Kaikan. 2. Kyoto Takigi Noh (June 1st) 【Heian Jingu Kaikan】Special Dinner Plan with Viewing Ticket for 'Kyoto Takigi Noh,' a Kyoto Early Summer Tradition Kyoto Takigi Noh, which began in 1950, was co-sponsored by Kyoto City and the Kyoto Noh Association, choosing Heian Jingu as the ideal location. This Kyoto Takigi Noh was planned in imitation of Nara's Takigi Onie (originally Takigi Sarugaku performed at Kofuku-ji Temple's Shunie), an ancient capital with a thousand years of history. Since then, it has been held annually with the aim of popularizing and developing Noh, and is now a poetic symbol of early summer in Kyoto. This year's theme, commemorating the 130th anniversary of Heian Jingu's founding, is 'Shikai Heian' (Peace Throughout the Four Seas). Amidst the twilight, bonfires are lit, illuminating the vermilion shrine buildings of Heian Jingu, and a special Noh stage emerges from the darkness, creating a mystical atmosphere. Enjoy a magnificent performance of Noh and Kyogen by various schools such as Kanze, Kongo, and Okura to your heart's content, as the sky deepens with time, transitioning into a world of profound beauty.
