[From Office Building to Hotel]

'HOTEL EN-YO' is the company's first project to convert a building originally constructed as an office building into a hotel. Kasoku Co., Ltd. (Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; Keisuke Arai, President), which develops a wide range of hotel businesses nationwide including apartment hotels and urban detached hotels, supervised the design, furniture, and art, and is also responsible for hotel operations. By producing everything from space design to operations, they provide a cohesive brand experience for guests.

[EN (Fate) and YO (Vessel)]

'HOTEL EN-YO' re-edits the potentially monotonous look of an office into an 'entrance of hospitality' that welcomes guests, providing an experience of 'refining oneself as a transit point.'

The brand name comes from 'EN' (fate) and 'YO' (vessel).

The concept centers on the idea that a stay is only complete when there is a vessel (YO) where one can safely entrust themselves to embrace the connections (EN) between people born during travel. The hotel aims to embrace various guest group sizes and lifestyles equally.

This project targets family groups from the Western and Australian regions (average 4 people, assuming 5–6 people / focusing on consecutive stays). For travelers who are 'used to traveling' across multiple cities (average stay of 3.5–4 nights), this place is not a 'place to live,' but a secure base—a comfortable transit point—to recharge their physical and mental energy before heading to their next destination.

The Akihabara area in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, where this property stands, is globally known as a hub for Japanese culture, such as anime, manga, and electric town, attracting many foreign tourists. On the other hand, the area around Kanda Sakumacho, a short walk from the station, retains old-fashioned streets and calm dining areas, creating a unique contrast where 'urban bustle' and 'quiet daily life' coexist.

[Design]

The design adopts Mid-Century Modern, which features functionality, openness, and friendliness for groups. By creating rhythm with wood textures as a base, accent colors, and lighting effects, it achieves a balance between 'sense of security' and 'a touch of excitement.' The uniformity of the 'former office' is enriched through the renewal of exterior materials and planting (dry garden style), and the entrance has been redesigned from the existing automatic doors to custom metal doors, restructuring the arrival experience to feel like a hotel.
