At TGC, leveraging its platform not only to promote regional charm and industries nationwide but also to provide opportunities to experience 'Tokyo’s cutting edge,' we established the 'TGC Regional Revitalization Project (※)' in 2015, based on the philosophy that this unique approach embodies regional revitalization. Starting with 'TGC Kitakyushu 2015' that same year, TGC has been held in nine regions including Hiroshima, Toyama, Shizuoka, Kumamoto, Wakayama, Matsuyama, Kagawa, and Niigata. By combining the unique cultures, industries, and aspirations of each region with TGC’s powerful reach in fashion, entertainment, technology, and social issues, we continue to create new regional appeal and possibilities, promoting their value across Japan and globally. 'TGC TOYAMA 2019,' the third city in the 'TGC Regional Revitalization Project,' featured trending models, artists, and athletes with ties to Toyama, alongside diverse content from local companies. Welcoming approximately 7,500 attendees in total, it successfully delivered Toyama’s charm to a wide audience and concluded with great success.

This year marks the first TGC in Toyama in seven years—'TGC TOYAMA 2026.' The event will take place at 'YKK AP ARENA,' a newly renovated landmark opening in October 2026, replacing the long-beloved Toyama City General Gymnasium. Under the theme 'Our New Stage,' the event will spotlight Toyama’s rich culture, industries, and culinary delights through diverse programming. By fusing TGC—the largest fashion festival ever, beloved by youth—with Toyama’s new beginning, we aim to generate excitement that will shine a national and global spotlight on Toyama’s charm and illuminate the future for everyone connected to the region.

Representing TGC, national charismatic talent Yuchami, active across modeling, acting, and other fields, made a striking appearance at the press conference in a refreshing, vibrant summer dress in soft aqua—the signature color of TGC Toyama—drawing exceptional attention.

Having appeared at TGC over 20 times, Yuchami shared her thoughts on the event: 'What I love most about TGC is being able to meet fans directly—it makes us so happy. The runway is so close, we can clearly see fans’ handheld signs and faces, which brings us joy. I really do see each person’s face, and fans always make their signs and boards so cute, giving us so much energy.' Recalling her experiences in Toyama, she said: 'This is my third time visiting Toyama, but I haven’t had a chance to sightsee yet. This time, I really want to try sushi, firefly squid, and other local specialties. When I arrived today, I saw so many signs saying 'Toyama means sushi'—I’m really looking forward to enjoying fresh seafood. My favorite toppings are otoro and yellowtail—the bento I had earlier was incredibly delicious!'

Finally, expressing her enthusiasm for the long-awaited TGC Toyama: 'Since Toyama means sushi, we TGC models want to create a show that feels fresh and absolutely delicious to everyone. I’m really looking forward to it.' She then added with a smile: 'Let’s do a gyaru peace sign—why not, it’s a special occasion!' humorously involving the panelists (laugh).

Additionally, it has been decided that the one-of-a-kind regional revitalization project by two of Japan’s leading entertainment companies, 'W TOKYO × LDH JAPAN Regional Revitalization Project (※),' will make its debut in Toyama as the 14th city, in conjunction with 'TGC TOYAMA 2026.' At the press conference, a video message from EXILE TETSUYA, a leading figure in the project, was delivered, sharing his vision for its implementation. (Excerpt from the video message below)

'Through the W TOKYO × LDH JAPAN Regional Revitalization Project, we aim to promote the SDGs. First, we use the TGC stage to create collaboration performances between LDH JAPAN artists and local dance students, providing wonderful stage experiences for the next generation aspiring to entertainment. Second, I produce the 'LDH Dance Workshop Show,' which includes a kids’ zone at the front, making it an event where fans and local residents can freely and joyfully participate. I’d be delighted if many people join in. This will be our third TGC in Toyama since 2019, and we’ll work hard to amplify the excitement using our entertainment power. We hope to see you all at the venue. See you there!'
