The large-scale visual work 'BLUE OCEAN DOME,' presented at the Osaka-Kansai Expo 2025, will be specially screened from Saturday, July 18, 2026, at the Dome Theater of Miraikan (National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation). WOW Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Yuji Takahashi; hereinafter 'WOW') served as the creative and production lead, crafting an immersive visual experience confronting Earth—the planet of water—entirely in full 3DCG. This special screening offers a rare opportunity to experience 'BLUE OCEAN DOME' in Tokyo following the Expo's conclusion.

The work was showcased at the 'BLUE OCEAN DOME' pavilion during the Osaka-Kansai Expo, hosted by ZERI JAPAN, an NPO aiming to build a zero-waste society inspired by nature. Centered on the theme of 'Reviving the Oceans,' the pavilion promoted sustainable use of marine resources and protection of marine ecosystems. Under the art direction of Kenya Hara of Japan Design Center, WOW utilized a convex hemispherical LED display approximately 10 meters in diameter to visually depict the vibrant life systems of Earth and the escalating issue of plastic marine pollution with stunning visual artistry. During the Expo, over 1.12 million visitors attended, making it a highly acclaimed experience that deepened public awareness of ocean conservation.

This special screening is part of Miraikan's initiative to carry forward the legacy of the Osaka-Kansai Expo into the future. The work has been specially localized for Miraikan's Dome Theater, which has a diameter of approximately 15 meters, preserving the immersive experience from the Expo while delivering a vivid, lifelike presentation. Additionally, a special corner near the venue will feature documentary videos exploring pathways to restore the oceans. The organizers hope this series of works will encourage audiences to re-examine the relationship between humanity and the sea, inspiring each individual to reflect on a sustainable future.

Large-Scale Visual Work 'BLUE OCEAN DOME'

A visually stunning portrayal of Earth, a miraculously beautiful water planet, capturing both the radiant interconnectedness of marine life and the ongoing changes in the ocean environment. The film presents the ocean from multiple scales—from a macro perspective, as seen from space, to a micro perspective down to the cellular level. By blending hyper-realistic visuals indistinguishable from reality with dreamlike imagination, it aims to create a 'device for consciousness transformation' that deeply resonates with viewers' senses.

The visuals were created based on fieldwork conducted in biodiverse marine regions and under the supervision of the Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology (JAMSTEC). WOW's signature meticulous 3DCG techniques vividly and mysteriously depict the dynamism of life and the state of ocean pollution, resulting in a film where the beauty of nature coexists with a quiet yet powerful message about environmental issues. The vocal performance by Hatis Noit adds a multidimensional depth to the visuals, evoking the voiceless voices of marine creatures.
