Waccel Inc. is participating as a co-host in the 'Aoshima Tech Water Rescue & Marine Conservation Academy,' planned and operated by its collaborator, the Miyazaki Lifesaving Club (NPO). The event will be held on Friday, June 5, 2026, at the Nagisa no Koban and the beach in front of the station in Miyazaki City. It is designed for local middle school students to experience marine plastic issues, cutting-edge robotics, water rescue, and 'SpoGOMI' (trash-picking sports) in a single day. In recent years, marine plastic waste and microplastics have become global issues. This academy is an experiential educational event held in Aoshima, Miyazaki, designed to help the next generation face these social issues as their own. A notable feature is that high school students serve as instructors, teaching their middle school peers about their research on marine issues, fostering problem-solving mindsets. Additionally, the event will feature exhibitions of state-of-the-art underwater robots currently under development by the University of Miyazaki's Faculty of Engineering, as well as water rescue demonstrations and drone flight displays.
