Saburomaru Distillery, operated by Wakatsuru Shuzo, has received the 'Best Japanese Tourism' award at the Tokyo Whisky & Spirits Competition 2026 (TWSC2026). The distillery also won the top prize in the Visitor Attraction category at the World Whisky Awards this past February. These honors highlight the distillery's successful integration of local craftsmanship and experiential tourism, attracting approximately 45,000 visitors annually. Visitors can experience the world's first cast-iron still, 'ZEMON,' and participate in blending workshops.
