Washin-mura, a glamping facility in Futtsu City, Chiba Prefecture, has launched a new "Picnic Lunch" for day-trip visitors. Located in a satoyama (village forest) area about a 70-90 minute drive from Tokyo, the experience allows guests to spend time in a comfortable indoor space or a treehouse, regardless of the weather.

The plan was created to address the uncertainty of daytime outings from early to late summer, turning weather concerns into an opportunity to enjoy choosing a place to relax.

Two Selectable Plans The standard "Kazemachi" plan utilizes the indoor space "Kazemachi no Kyujitsu." Additionally, subject to availability, a special "Kuuchuu" plan is offered to one group per day, allowing exclusive use of the "Ik-kaku" treehouse.

The "Ik-kaku" treehouse is a space supported by five cedar trees, fully equipped with a sofa, air conditioning, and a toilet. Guests can enjoy views of the Boso mountains from the windows and relax in the sunlight filtering through the trees. This plan also includes a 'whole coffee set,' where guests can grind their own beans to brew fresh coffee.

Please note that the "Kuuchuu" plan cannot be guaranteed in advance; it is offered based on same-day availability. If unavailable, guests will use the standard plan.

An Experiential Hot Sandwich Lunch The centerpiece of the lunch is the hot sandwich that guests cook themselves. Two types are available: tuna with mayonnaise and corn, and another with ham, onion, and two kinds of cheese. By preparing the meal themselves, guests can enjoy the sounds, aromas, and fresh-from-the-grill taste.

The meal also includes a beef tongue salad, a Taiwanese tea jelly dessert, and fresh juice, creating a gentle lunch perfect for enjoying in a natural setting.

Washin-mura's picnic lunch proposes an experience that goes beyond just eating. It's about enjoying the entire passage of time in the satoyama through a series of activities: making, eating, walking, and connecting with nature.
