Enhancing Station Platform Safety: Commencement of Use and Construction of Platform Doors and Safety Screens (FY2026)

JR West considers improving safety at station platforms a crucial management issue to ensure safer and more secure railway usage, advancing various initiatives from both hardware and software perspectives.

Starting April 1, 2023, utilizing the railway station barrier-free fare system and with the understanding and cooperation of our customers, we have been proceeding with the installation of barrier-free facilities. We hereby announce the stations scheduled for the commencement of use and construction of platform doors, as well as stations starting the use of platform safety screens in FY2026.

1. Commencement of Use of Platform Doors Aiming to start using platform doors at 5 stations and 8 platforms. *Suita Station also utilizes subsidies from Suita City. *Installation at all platforms of Suita Station and Shin-Fukushima Station is planned to be completed in FY2026.

2. Commencement of Construction of Platform Doors Aiming to start construction of platform doors at 3 stations and 6 platforms.

3. Commencement of Use of Platform Safety Screens Aiming to start using platform safety screens at 20 stations and 53 platforms.
