WOTA Corp. signed a grant agreement with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) on May 21, 2026, for a large-scale demonstration of decentralized water reuse systems in the Caribbean. Funded by Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), this project is part of a program supporting technology transfer to the Global South to boost innovation, supply chains, and industrial infrastructure. The initiative will deploy the 'WOTA Unit' residential water reuse system in Antigua and Barbuda and Barbados to establish local operational models. WOTA's small-scale systems operate independently of existing water and sewage infrastructure. The WOTA Unit can recycle up to 97% of domestic wastewater from bathrooms, kitchens, and laundry into safe water, using rainwater to replenish deficits. Founded in 2014, WOTA aims to address global water scarcity, distribution, and pollution through autonomous water treatment control technologies. Details and inquiries can be submitted via WOTA's corporate page (https://wota.co.jp) and their inquiry form (https://wota.co.jp/form/corporate_inquiry/).
