Portable Rechargeable Hearing Aid 'SmartRIC' Joins Widex Subscription Plan From June 1

WS Audiology Japan announced that the WIDEX SmartRIC, the latest model in the MOMENT series which has sold over 100,000 units, will join the 'Mimiyori Flat-Rate Plan' hearing aid subscription from June 1, 2026. SmartRIC features a slim L-shaped design and is Widex's first portable-charger-compatible model, delivering approximately 37 hours of continuous use or 27 hours with Bluetooth streaming. The portable charger (WPP401) provides over one week of use on a full charge and can recharge both hearing aids up to five times. The device won two Red Dot Design Award 2024 categories in healthcare and medical device technology. It carries IP68 dust and water resistance, supports iOS MFi and Android ASHA, and offers five color options. The subscription starts at 3,600 yen/month across all four courses, including counseling, fitting adjustments, and aftercare. A free cancellation option is available after two months of continued use, and devices are replaced with new models every five years.
