X Mile Co., Ltd. (reading: Crossmile, Headquarters: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo, Representative Director: Hiroyuki Noro, hereinafter "the Company"), which provides the SaaS platform "LogiPoke" for logistics businesses, has conducted an awareness and actual conditions survey regarding "Legal Amendments and DX" targeting 354 professionals in the logistics industry and is pleased to announce the compiled results.
The survey clarifies real-world challenges faced by the industry, including responses to the two logistics laws, the reality of labor shortages, and the status of DX adoption.

Easing of "Urgency" and Widening Response Gap: While the perceived labor shortage is trending downwards, approximately 15% responded that they have "not taken any action regarding legal amendments," highlighting a clear polarization in responses.
Dilemma of Improving Working Conditions: Companies prioritize improving driver compensation, yet show reluctance in negotiating freight rates to secure the necessary funds.
Expectation for "External Enforcement": There is a strong demand for penalties against shippers and public subsidies to ensure fair pricing.
Current Status and Challenges of DX Utilization: Currently, DX efforts are centered on "defensive" measures (alcohol checks, invoicing), but there is a growing desire for "management DX" such as cost management.
Barrier to Securing Human Resources: The biggest hurdle for the industry as a whole remains "difficulty in securing drivers."
▼ Main Survey Findings

2) Structural Challenges Regarding "Improving Working Conditions": Expectations for Better Treatment and External Factors

▼ Details of Survey Results
1) Current State of the Logistics Industry: Corporate Disparities in Responding to Legal Amendments
Perception of labor shortage and status of response to legal amendments (existence of those taking no action)
While the perceived labor shortage has been decreasing year by year, approximately 15% responded that they have "not taken any specific action" regarding legal compliance. This highlights the growing disparity between companies that thoroughly enforce legal compliance and those that are falling behind due to resource shortages.
2) Structural Challenges Regarding "Improving Working Conditions": Expectations for Better Treatment and External Factors
Current status of cost calculation (about 50% understand) and reluctance in freight rate negotiations, hurdles to salary increases. Expectations for penalties against shippers and public subsidies.
There is a discernible contradiction: companies prioritize improving driver working conditions (salary increases) but are reluctant to negotiate freight rates, which are the source of funds for such improvements. It can also be inferred that many companies lack the logic for appropriate price pass-through and price setting. The strong demand for "external enforcement" such as penalties and subsidies suggests a weakness in their ability to determine prices internally.
3) Current State of DX and Future Direction
Shift from "Defensive DX" to "DX for Revenue Management," need to reduce administrative burden.
Current DX adoption is primarily focused on compliance with legal obligations and improving administrative efficiency (defensive measures), such as alcohol checks and invoicing. "Expense and cost management" is listed as a future consideration. To compensate for the aforementioned "lack of cost calculation," visualizing revenue through digital means will be key to enabling freight rate negotiations based on evidence with shippers.
Conclusion
The gap between companies that are proceeding with legal compliance and those that are not is widening. Moving forward, cost calculation and the "transition to autonomous management structures" through DX will be the turning point for survival.

X Mile's Vision: "A World Where Non-Desk Workers Take Center Stage Through the Power of Technology"
Japan's working population is projected to decrease by 14.28 million over the next 20 years. Occupations facing particularly severe labor shortages include drivers, construction workers, and security guards – "non-desk workers."
The problems that have become apparent in non-desk industries are broadly two-fold: "shortage of workers" and "low labor productivity."
We are currently working to solve both of these issues.
<Service Overview>
(1) SaaS Platform for Non-Desk Industries (Solving Low Labor Productivity)
In the transportation industry, alongside Japan's biggest driver shortage, which has become a social issue, there are many industry challenges to solve, such as the "multi-layered subcontracting structure" and "low labor productivity" centered around phone calls, paper, and fax. Crossmile supports the transportation industry, an infrastructure industry, by solving these issues with software, thereby maximizing business operators' sales and improving costs.
