Yamaha Corporation (hereinafter 'the Company') will provide its 'Omotenashi Guide' live streaming service, utilizing its proprietary 'SoundUD' technology, at the 'Japan Curling Championships Yokohama 2026' starting on Sunday, June 7. Curling is a team sport where players slide stones across the ice toward a target area called the 'house' located approximately 37 meters away. The Japan Curling Championships, held since 1984, is the premier domestic tournament featuring top-tier teams. The 'Omotenashi Guide' service allows spectators to listen to real-time Japanese commentary on their own smartphones while watching the matches. No app installation is required; users can simply scan a QR code displayed at the venue. In addition to the live atmosphere, the service enhances the viewing experience by providing insights into stone placement, shot strategies, and game tactics. This service has been previously implemented in professional sports matches and international tournaments to provide audio information to attendees. Yamaha remains committed to promoting 'Sound Universal Design' in collaboration with sports organizations and event organizers.
