Yamaha Launches Recorder Performance Support Guide 'Recofit'

Yamaha Corporation (hereinafter "the Company") will launch the recorder performance support guide "Recofit" on July 16 (Thu).

The Company began manufacturing and selling recorders in 1967. Among these, plastic recorders are widely adopted in elementary and junior high school classes, supporting musical performance learning in school education.

The recorder performance support guide "Recofit," to be released this time, is a performance support item that allows users to naturally acquire correct finger positioning and holding methods by attaching a sticker-like part to a soprano recorder. It intuitively helps users understand where to place their fingers and makes it easier to produce correct notes. It also uses a non-slip cushion material to ensure stability and is washable. Furthermore, its design does not interfere with the finger holes (tone holes), allowing users to enjoy the instrument's original tone while learning.

While recorders are instruments used by many children in classes, some children find it difficult to master playing techniques and may struggle in the initial stages. Through "Recofit," the Company aims to support the creation of an environment where everyone can learn easily and deliver the joy of expressing music to more children.

By providing an opening, it allows the hand to naturally follow the instrument without hindering finger movement, making it easier to play with correct posture. Furthermore, by color-coding the left-hand guide blue and the right-hand guide red, it is visually easy for children to distinguish left from right, making it effective for instruction.

2. Uses non-slip cushion material

The use of non-slip cushion material allows for stable instrument holding, enabling concentration on learning. The material used is foamed polyethylene, also used in items like swim boards, ensuring safety. It also has excellent water resistance, so there is no need to remove it when washing, making it easy to handle. (Yamaha's plastic recorders can be washed with water.)

By avoiding the tone holes so as not to affect the pitch or tone color, the design allows users to enjoy the recorder's original sound even with the guide attached. Furthermore, the guide can be removed piece by piece according to the user's proficiency, supporting learning tailored to each child.
