Yamaha Music Japan Co., Ltd. (hereinafter 'the Company') will sponsor the 'Pacific Music Festival (PMF) 2026,' an international educational music festival held primarily in Sapporo from Tuesday, July 7, to Monday, July 27, 2026.
PMF was founded in Sapporo by the world-renowned conductor Leonard Bernstein (USA, 1918–1990), known for composing 'West Side Story,' and the London Symphony Orchestra. To date, it has produced approximately 3,800 musicians across 79 countries and regions, contributing to the development of future talent in the classical music scene.
The Company has been a main sponsor since the festival's inception in 1990, providing support such as lending instruments for concerts. Ahead of 'PMF2026,' the Company will host concerts and exhibitions featuring PMF alumni at the Yamaha Ginza store (7-9-14 Ginza, Chuo-ku, Tokyo). Furthermore, during the 'PMF2026' period in Sapporo, the Company will hold the 'TOUCH & TRY' instrument experience event and install the 'LovePiano(R)' street piano.
Through these initiatives, the Company aims to expand activities that connect PMF with concert attendees and contribute to the development of musical culture.
