Yokohama Excellence announces the implementation of the "B.Hope Defense Action" disaster prevention basketball program, part of the B.LEAGUE's "B.Hope" social responsibility initiative. The program combines disaster preparedness with the joy of basketball to nurture individuals who can prepare, act, and help others. It teaches local children practical survival skills and actions to protect their lives during emergencies.
It was conducted for the Yokohama Excellence U15 teams (boys and girls) to foster community protection awareness alongside athletic skills. At Minami Yoshida Elementary School (5th grade), it was held as a "Smile Ambassador" activity, allowing children to proactively learn disaster prevention. Additionally, it took place at B-Block Ecospo Park as a community project with the Yokohama Sports Association, building community resilience.
Players #8 Tatsuya Nishiyama and #93 Junki Uera also participated to deepen learning with the children. The club will continue to promote safe community building and youth development through sports.
