Yokohama Sky Building × Yokohama Canon Eagles: Report on the 2025-26 Season 'Book Recycling Project'

Yokohama Sky Building Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Nishi-ku, Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture; President and CEO: Shinya Mizumura) has collaborated with the Yokohama Canon Eagles, a team in Japan Rugby League One, on the 'Book Recycling Project'—an initiative supporting employment creation and independence for people with disabilities. We are pleased to report that during the 2025-26 season, which concluded on May 31, 2026, we successfully collected a total of 4,590 books (cumulative total of 10,389 books over three seasons). We sincerely thank all those who supported and participated in this project.

About the Book Recycling Project

This project collects books that have completed their role in households and donates them to the General Incorporated Association Working Barrier Free (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Hiroyuki Shimada). The organization enables people with disabilities at supported employment facilities to sort, inspect, package, and ship the collected books for resale in the secondhand market. A portion of the sales revenue is returned to these facilities, supporting job creation and independence for individuals with disabilities. For this season’s project, sorting and shipping operations were entrusted to the nonprofit organization Dekaizora (Headquarters: Seya-ku, Yokohama; President: Makoto Iida), which operates various welfare programs in Yokohama, thereby supporting their activities.

The 'Book Recycling Project' was conducted as follows, successfully collecting a total of 4,590 books, which were donated to supported employment facilities for people with disabilities.
