Yurindo announced that 5,000 limited copies of Dai Matsumoto's book, 'Does Literacy Improve Academic Ability?', sold out in 37 minutes during its live sales project held on its official YouTube channel, 'Yurindo Shika Shiranai Sekai,' on June 9, 2026.

For the first time on the channel, the 'Yurindo Online Store' was utilized for live sales, displaying the remaining stock via a digital counter. The event recorded a peak concurrent viewership of 12,152, with the comment section filled with purchase reports and expressions of resonance with the book, generating significant enthusiasm.

The project aimed to promote the book's themes through deep engagement with video content. Author Dai Matsumoto, who had appeared twice on the channel, successfully deepened viewer understanding by explaining the history of rubi (furigana) and its importance as a key to accessing knowledge. This pre-event stimulation, coupled with the immediate purchase path during the live broadcast, led to the sell-out.

This project also marked the first implementation of a Shopify-based live commerce model, allowing product display within the video and a direct transition to the purchase page. This initiative seamlessly connects 'discovering' a book with 'buying' it, representing the success of Yurindo's new proposal for cultural and knowledge access through its bookstores.
