Kokumin Kyosai Coop (National Workers' Mutual Aid Federation, Representative Director and Chairperson: Shuichi Uchikoshi) has been making donations to environmental activity organizations since 2008 based on the contract status of the 'Social Contribution Eco-Housing Exclusive Sumairu Kyosai' and annual financial results.

The number of contracts for 'Social Contribution Eco-Housing Exclusive Sumairu Kyosai' (as of end of May 2025) reached 116,709 (approximately 6% increase from the previous period), and a total of 25 million yen was donated in May 2026 to three organizations: the 'Public Interest Incorporated Association National Land Afforestation Promotion Organization', the 'Public Interest Incorporated Foundation Japan Environmental Association', and the 'Public Interest Incorporated Foundation Nature Conservation Society of Japan'.

We will continue to contribute to environmental conservation together with our members and the selected donation organizations.

Overview of the Public Interest Incorporated Association National Land Afforestation Promotion Organization

To promote the national land afforestation movement, it collaborates with prefectural afforestation promotion committees, develops a fundraising system, conducts various fundraising activities, and promotes forest creation through citizen participation via the 'Green Fundraising Project' and 'Green and Water Forest Fund Project'.

Widely used for citizen activities for forest maintenance and afforestation promotion both domestically and internationally. The association is conducting restoration activities for coastal disaster prevention forests (Iwanuma area, Miyagi Prefecture) damaged by the Great East Japan Earthquake. With cooperation from the organization, members, and partner groups, a total of 1,600 black pine seedlings (0.32 ha) have been planted, with ongoing thinning and tree care.

Born in September 1957 as a mutual aid cooperative. 'Kyosai' is a system where 'everyone helps each other to prepare for someone's emergency.' Amid significant changes in our environment such as an aging society with fewer children and large-scale disasters, Kokumin Kyosai Coop continues to walk together with everyone towards 'creating a rich and secure society through mutual aid' based on the concept and system of 'tasukeai'.

The 'Social Contribution Eco-Housing Exclusive Sumairu Kyosai' is a plan that offers the same coverage as 'Sumairu Kyosai' for fire and natural disasters, but is available to residents of eco-houses that have installed and are using eco-equipment designated by Kokumin Kyosai Coop, and offers a discount on premiums.
