NPO ZESDA has announced its support for 'The Hatobue & Péckvillerchen Project,' an initiative planned and operated by 8PEACE, an organization dedicated to international cultural co-creation through traditional crafts, launched to mark the 2027 centennial of diplomatic relations between Japan and Luxembourg.
Since 2024, 8PEACE has been running the 'Cultural Bridge Project,' collaborating with diplomatic missions, educational institutions, and local enterprises, primarily in Luxembourg and Germany, involving over 600 participants in cultural exchange and co-creation activities. This new project aims to connect culture and hopes for peace to the future through the shared bird whistle traditions of Japan's 'Hatobue' and Luxembourg's 'Péckvillerchen.'
In February 2026, 8PEACE conducted a Hatobue art workshop in Luxembourg with 45 members of the Luxembourg Boys Choir. Currently, in collaboration with Kyoto traditional artisans and Luxembourgish artists, the team is progressing with plans to create and exhibit commemorative works for 2027.
Through this project, ZESDA aims to promote collaboration with companies, organizations, and educational institutions that resonate with the mission, contributing to the creation of new cultural value, international exchange, and next-generation education.
