Successful Acquisition of Precise Location Data Inside Shinkansen Using Spatial AI with Central Japan Railway Company.

zeteoh Inc. (Headquarters: Tokyo, CEO: Jan Ligier), a spatial AI startup aiming for the autonomous operation of industries, has conducted a joint Proof of Concept (PoC) with Central Japan Railway Company (JR Central) to acquire precise location data inside high-speed Shinkansen trains.

This technology was introduced at the 'FY2026 Technology Development Forum' hosted by JR Central in Nagoya on May 12-13, 2026.

### Features of Spatial AI 'TRAILS' Traditional indoor positioning technologies require the installation of fixed equipment such as beacons, which poses significant constraints for data acquisition within Shinkansen cars. zeteoh's spatial AI 'TRAILS' enables precise location data acquisition without any infrastructure investment by combining standard smartphone sensors with proprietary spatial AI algorithms.

### PoC Results In this PoC, AI learning using sensor data collected inside an actual running Shinkansen successfully achieved location data acquisition with an accuracy of within 3 meters—sufficient for practical operations—even at a maximum speed of 285 km/h.

### Future Outlook zeteoh will promote data acquisition and optimization using spatial AI not only in the railway industry but also in various industrial sites where 'intelligence of physical space' is required, such as manufacturing, logistics, and construction.

### About zeteoh Inc. Founded in 2020, zeteoh is a Japanese deep-tech startup pioneering the frontier of autonomous industrial operation by digitizing 'human movement' and 'business processes' in physical spaces.

Selected as a 'Deep Tech Pioneer' at 'Hello Tomorrow,' the world's most prestigious deep-tech competition, from among over 4,800 applicants across 108 countries. The company offers 'TRAILS,' a spatial AI platform that reduces infrastructure investment by 90% and can be deployed using only existing smartphones.

Advisory members include Karl-Gustaf Eklund (former CEO of Volvo Japan) and Samir Hamoudi (former Google Maps manager), supporting a global structure to accelerate DX in manufacturing sites.
