Sapporo Classic Birthday Festival! Celebrating the Birthday of Hokkaido-Exclusive Beer "Sapporo Classic" to be Held on Friday, June 12 at Sapporo Beer Garden

Sapporo Breweries Ltd., a group company of Sapporo Holdings Ltd., will hold the "Sapporo Classic Birthday Festival!" on Friday, June 12, 2026, at Sapporo Beer Garden Kaitakushi-kan (Sapporo, Hokkaido), commemorating June 12, the birthday of the Hokkaido-exclusive beer "Sapporo Classic." 200 participants will be selected by lottery for this event (participation fee: 8,000 yen including tax).

Since its launch in 1985, "Sapporo Classic" has been supported by the people of Hokkaido and celebrates its 41st anniversary this year. This event is planned as a special evening to celebrate the birthday of "Sapporo Classic" together with everyone, as a token of gratitude for their continued patronage.

On the day of the event, participants can enjoy an original course meal with all-you-can-drink, and the venue will be enlivened with a toast, talk session, and participatory events featuring Kenshi Sugiya, the Sapporo Classic Cheerleader Captain, as a special guest.

* 10-minute walk from Exit 4 of Higashi-Kuyakusho-mae Station on the Toho Subway Line, 8-minute walk from JR Naebo Station North Exit

3. Number of Participants 200 people

* If there are many applications, participants will be selected by lottery.

4. Participation Fee 8,000 yen (tax included)

5. Content Original course meal with all-you-can-drink, a toast and talk session with Kenshi Sugiya, and participatory events are planned.

Special Guest

Kenshi Sugiya, Sapporo Classic Cheerleader Captain

Born on February 4, 1991, in Nerima-ku, Tokyo. Started playing baseball in elementary school and participated in the Koshien tournament three times (spring and summer) while at Teikyo High School. In 2008, he was drafted in the 6th round and joined the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters. In 2011, he was promoted to the first team and was selected as an outstanding player in the Fresh All-Star game. In 2015, he increased his starting appearances and performed well with a batting average of .295. The following year, in 2016, his uniform number was changed to "2." After playing as a utility player capable of covering both infield and outfield positions as a switch-hitter, he retired in 2022. In 2023, he established ZENSHIN CONNECT Co., Ltd.

Sapporo Classic is a Hokkaido-exclusive beer created by Sapporo Breweries, which was born and raised in Hokkaido, as a pioneer of regionally exclusive beers in 1985, with gratitude to Hokkaido. It uses Hokkaido-grown hops and a portion of Hokkaido-grown barley malt, and is made with 100% malt without any adjuncts, aiming for a taste that matches Hokkaido's food and climate.
