Konoike Transport has become the first Japanese logistics company to implement 'Glean,' the enterprise generative AI platform provided by Glean Technologies, Inc.
This initiative is part of the KONOIKE Group's 'Generative AI Utilization Project' announced last year, focusing on 'building an enterprise-wide AI foundation' and 'AI talent development.'
Background and Purpose In response to the declining birthrate and aging population, Konoike has been promoting generative AI use since 2023. Issues included the emergence of 'Shadow AI' where individual departments used different tools, and delayed decision-making caused by fragmented information across various SaaS platforms. To resolve these, the company decided to adopt an external AI platform.
Utilization Status and Results Following a pilot phase starting in November 2025, the platform is now fully operational with approximately 1,200 licenses. It is utilized for cross-platform searches across Box, Microsoft Outlook, and ServiceNow, as well as for report creation, chat responses, and AI agent development. Cumulative training participants have reached approximately 600.
Future Prospects Under the slogan 'AI is Everywhere,' the ICT Promotion Department aims to achieve the following by the end of fiscal year 2026: - Expand monthly active users (MAU) to approximately 600. - Train approximately 600 AI Practitioners and 100 AI Ambassadors. - Operate 75 practical AI agents integrated into operational processes.
